Chairman Guo Xinan Sharing Experience in the Blow Molding Industry
Today, we are honored to invite Mr. Guo Xinan, Chairman of Guangdong Leshan Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., to share his entrepreneurial experience. He has profound experience in the blow molding industry and has witnessed the booming development of the industry. With his rich industry knowledge and outstanding leadership, Mr. Guo has won the trust and support of many customers and helped them dig the first pot of gold in their lives.
Mr. Guo will share numerous customer success stories, covering many products such as shampoo bottles, yogurt bottles, inflatable bubble balls, lubricant containers, and space water cups. From the first-generation blow molding machines in the late 1980s to the modern production lines of the 21st century, Mr. Guo has adhered to a core philosophy: leveraging the power of technology to create more excellent value for customers and achieving mutual success.
In an era of underdeveloped technology, Mr. Guo began to develop the first generation of blow molding machines, which consisted of extruders, manual mechanical clamping, and manual material pipe forming. This machine produced transparent shampoo bottles made of PVC. Although the color deviation was relatively large, the customer’s net profit was as high as more than 1 yuan per bottle, which was a remarkable achievement.
In the 1990s, Mr. Guo introduced the pneumatic single-mold frame and double-mold frame technology to fulfill American toy orders from Hong Kong companies, such as inflatable bubble balls and electroplated colored Christmas ornaments. Faced with a leakage rate of up to 20-80% of the old technology, Mr. Guo invented the secondary mold closing technology to increase the qualified rate to 100%. This innovation remains a global standard for bubble ball manufacturers today.
Unsatisfied with the status quo, Mr. Guo ventured into new product lines, developing China’s first lubricant containers with liquid-level lines. This innovation significantly reduced production costs, enabling over 5 RMB per bottle profits. Subsequently, large enterprises such as Sinopec, Great Wall, and Kunlun began to use these containers, further solidifying the breakthrough’s success.
As people pursued a higher quality of life, Mr. Guo launched a space water cup made of PC material. This drinking cup has a large capacity and low cost, and the customer’s profit is as high as more than ten yuan per product. The success of this product inspired the customer to purchase eight machines in a row in more than a year. Every time the customer visited Leshan, he upgraded his car from a motorcycle to a BMW and finally turned to real estate.
After Danone acquired Robust, they purchased a bottle-blowing machine worth more than 10 million yuan from Mr. Guo to produce PE yogurt bottles. This cooperation not only reduced the number of workers on the production line from more than 2,000 to 160 but also made the bottle weight more stable and lighter, saving the customer more than 20 million yuan in material and labor costs each year, which means that the investment in equipment was recouped within just one year.
In 2000: A dual-die, dual-clamp blow molding machine had a 24-hour output of 12,000 bottles with six operators. Labor costs were 641.94 RMB/ton, electricity costs were 382.82 RMB/ton, totaling 1,024.76 RMB/ton.
In 2015, A four-die, dual-clamp machine increased output to 28,000 bottles/24 hours with four operators. Labor costs dropped to 177.67 RMB/ton and electricity costs to 266.65 RMB/ton, totaling 444.32 RMB/ton.
In 2024, A six-die, dual-clamp machine with electric drives achieved a daily output of 60,000 bottles with 0.5 operators per machine (one person overseeing two machines). Labor costs fell further to 44.36 RMB/ton and electricity costs to 90 RMB/ton, totaling just 134.36 RMB/ton—a mere 13% of the original cost.
